20 Things a Mother Should Tell Her Son

A friend of mine posted this one her facebook and I thought it would be a good share!
I love my sweet baby boy and though I am not ready for a lot of this I do pray that he grows to be the wonderful man his father is!

20 Things a Mother Should Tell Her Son

1. You will set the tone for the sexual relationship, so don't take something away from her that you can't give back.

2. Play a sport. It will teach you how to win honorably, lose gracefully, respect authority, work with others, manage your time and stay out of trouble. And maybe even throw or catch.

3. Use careful aim when you pee. Somebody's got to clean that up, you know.

4. Save money when you're young because you're going to need it some day.

5. Allow me to introduce you to the dishwasher, oven, washing machine, iron, vacuum, mop and broom. Now please go use them.

6. Pray and be a spiritual leader.

7. Don't ever be a bully and don't ever start a fight, but if some idiot clocks you, please defend yourself.

8. Your knowledge and education is something that nobody can take away from you.

9. Treat women kindly. Forever is a long time to live alone and it's even longer to live with somebody who hates your guts.

10. Take pride in your appearance.

11. Be strong and tender at the same time.

12. A woman can do everything that you can do. This includes her having a successful career and you changing diapers at 3 A.M. Mutual respect is the key to a good relationship.

13. "Yes ma'am" and "yes sir" still go a long way.

14. The reason that they're called "private parts" is because they're "private". Please do not scratch them in public.

15. Peer pressure is a scary thing. Be a good leader and others will follow.

16. Bringing her flowers for no reason is always a good idea.

17. Be patriotic.

18. Potty humor isn't the only thing that's humorous.

19. Please choose your spouse wisely. My daughter-in-law will be the gatekeeper for me spending time with you and my grandchildren.

20. Remember to call your mother because I might be missing you.

Special video from Santa :)

We made one of these last year and Parker loved it and watched it over and over and over again. This is her new one and I can't wait to show her. She is finally getting the whole Christmas and Santa Clause thing. She thinks her elf, Patch, is hilarious. She already found him in the fridge drinking her sprite, hanging upside down on our fake plant and this morning he got into her candy jar and was eating a hershey kiss...silly Patch ;)

Stop & Shop

If you have time on Tuesday come by Hillcrest School on A Street. It is across from the open field that is part of the small airport. It is one building north of the ConocoPhillips buidling.
There will be many different vendors but not so big it is overwhelming. Stop by on your lunch break if you work all day!! They are even having a big bake sale..YUM!
Check out to learn more about the school.

Here we go again

A lot of times these blogs are probably really boring to someone who actually reads my stuff but it is so fun to look over the past few years and read them. I am so happy I do these to have reference. I spent a little bit this morning looking at posts from when Parker was just a few months old and it's crazy the stuff I already forgot. So if you ever wonder "why in the world is she writing about that"'s because I want to be able to look back on things that I obviously can't remember..I have a horrible memory.

So here is a blog that you could care less about but it helps me keep track :)
I started Weight Watchers yesterday to get off these last stubborn pounds. I knew I wrote about the last time I did weight watchers so I went back to see my progress then. I gained 50 with Parker and Weight Watchers along with West Texas Losers helped me shed those last pounds + more! This time my goal is just to get down to pre-pregnancy weight. I gained 60 pounds with Liam when I swore I would do better this round..ha. It's much more fun puting those pounds on! I lost the first 42 fairly easy just by not indulging in cokes, donuts, cookies and all the other stuff I crammed in my face. But these last 18 need to be worked off!! Weight Watchers worked last time so I knew I wanted to do that again but I also wanted to add in my It Works! stuff to help me get healthier and also to tighten up my tummy.

To go along with this I am also on a Lean Team at work for our Lean Team Challenge over the holidays. So I weighed in on Tuesday and began my diet...STARVING all day. STARVING ALL DAY yesterday and then again today! Last time it took me three days to get past the horrible hunger so I am almost there. But for now lots of veggies and fruit for me since they have a 0 point value on WW.

For the past couple of months I have been noticing Liam's head being pretty flat in the back. I knew this happens by them being on their back too much. We have tried as much as we could to get him on his tummy but he hates it! We still make him do it but it's so easy to turn him over when he is screaming. I asked Dr Reese about this at his 4 month check up. She said she wasn't too concerned about it and really didn't believe in the helmets...just a change in his activities.  I did some research and it does concern me. I know this is just a cosmetic thing but I don't want us to regret not doing more later down the road. So I decided I would start taking pictures and see if he gets any better over the next 2 months. I know I shouldn't google and should probably just listen to my doctor but he is my baby so it bothers me...

No more of our own

Well before we were married Tanner and I went through premarital counseling. We each had to answer a series of questions then compare answers. One of them was "How many kids would you like?". In the beginning, I didn't care for kids then when I decided I wanted kids...I wanted them!! Though 5 sounded fun at the time we decided we would have 2 of our own and then adopt the 3rd if we felt called to do that.
I am not a fun pregnant girl! The 1st trimester on both pregnancies was yuck but my 1st trimester with Liam was extra yuck. I can't believe it's been a year since I was in my 1st trimester!! The 2nd trimester is a matter of getting comfortable with everything and the 3rd trimester is back to yuck...see, I'm fun right?? :( I was blessed with 2 wonderful pregnancies so you think I would gripe less but it's just in my genes ;) I remember talking with Dr Locke about getting my tubes tied but my pregnancy ears could have swore he said he couldn't do the procedure during my c-section, that I would have to get sewn up and then cme back in the next day and reopen that inscision?? what the heck?? No thanks!! But it was definitely pregnancy ears because after I had Liam we were talking about birth control and I mentioned the tubes and he said he could have definitely tied them during the c-section but he recommened I sit on it for awhile...anyways my tubes are well open and that scares me like crazy!! I have full faith in God's plan but can I really hope that it's for no more kids of our own?? We have 3 months left considering Tanner went 2 weeks ago for the big "V" :)
I had been asking him for sometime to do this. I hated to get onto birth control since I was nervous it was going to make my hormones go crazy!! And all the other stuff just didn't sound fun. He agreed so we made the appointment. Of course, he only got negative comments about the procedure how it was horrible and it hurt like crazy, yada yada. We showed up, waited for about 5 minutes then he was off to the room and I was off to get his surprises ready. Luckily, his dad came to pick him up since I had to go pick up the kids. This gave me time to get all his gifts ready. The whole thing lasted 45 minutes and he was home...piece of cake right? Easy for me to say ;)  I wanted him to know how appreciative I was of him for doing this!! Even though it's a simple procedure I didn't want him to feel like he had any "manhood" taken from him. But he did it, healed very quickly and now is back to his normal self.
I love our idea of adoption. I would love to give a sweet baby a loving home. But I know it's not about OUR idea and it's all about HIS idea so we will see how that goes later down the road...
Here is a picture of Tanner's treats for being an awesome husband and taking one for the team!
Now we enjoy this sweet time with these 2 precious babies!!

4 Months

My sweet little man turned 4 months on November 3rd. I guess I am supposed to say " I can't believe it has been 4 months" but I really can believe it. I feel like it has been much longer. I feel like I have been back to work much longer than 2 months. These past 4 months have been nothing short of CRAZY! Work has been so busy! I love every single minute with my little 4 month old. Spliting time up between 2 kids and working is definitely more work but we manage to do it ;)

Liam really is a good baby. I can't say he is as good as his sister was. Parker literally never cried or fuss about anything. My sweet little boy, on the other hand, doesn't mind showing it when he's upset. He seriously needs a nap every hour and half. Parker only took 2 naps at this age. He HATES riding in his car seat. I don't know if it's because he gets bored or just needy. He is a great night sleeper so I do give him props on that, 7:30 until we wake him up for school! But I feel so blessed by this sweet boy that in all honesty his crying just never bothers me. I was just talking to Tanner last night about how I feel so calm with him, it takes a lot for me to get frusterated. But yesterday..I did get frusterated. He just got shots and did not go so smoothe like the 2 month shots. He was tired, hungry and just angry ( I would be too if I had all those working against me)! I got him home, gave him a bottle and he passed out. And then a few minutes later the Fed Ex guy rings the doorbell (I don't have a "please don't ring doorbell" sign because we aren't home during the day) and wakes him up...I'm a little ticked but the fedex guy didn't know better and he was delivering my spark :) It takes me forever to get him back asleep and then my awesome little cute furry animals want to bark at EVERYTHING and then woke him up again. I had to feed him once again because he was screaming the worst scream I have ever heard him make :( I feel like I can only get him to nap by feeding his chunky self. I was so disciplined with Parker but I let myself go with this sweet little boy..maybe it's because he is my last one. I want to rock him to sleep for every nap and to listen to him "cry it out" in bed...well I just can't take it! I am just thankful for 2 more month of fun before more dreaded shots though I am very thankful for them so my babies stay healthy.

But look...isn't he sweet??

His little face and smile just light up a room! His expressions are the best and I love to hear him talk and giggle. Everytime he smiles he lifts his eyebrows so high that you can really see just how excited he is to see a familiar face.
This chubby baby body reminds me of his sisters :)

Liam loves to be on his back! He is lazy just like his sister was. He has no desire to roll over or be on his tummy...that requires way too much work!

Tanner brought out the jumper this past weekend. He loved playing in it and we are hoping this will help his flat head. Since he loves being on his back the back of his head is kinda flat.

Starting to look like his sister....
Parker at 4 months

Liam had his well check yesterday and everything looked good. We can start him on solids if we want too, I just don't know if I am ready for that :(

4 month stats:
Weight: 18.2lbs (94%)
Length: 26 inches (83%)
Head: 17 (73%)

And the best news of all!!!!!
Midland College called yesterday as I was taking him to his appointment to let me know they have a spot for him!!! We have been taking him to a daycare way across town. Parker goes to Midland College and we live and work right up the street. So every morning and afternoon one of us has to drive across town to get brother. And all of you know how crazy our traffic is these days so it's a good 30-40 minute drive back and forth. Liam starts at MC on Monday! I am happy to have my babies together :)

Thinks sister is crazy or funny?? ;)

We got some of the best laughs from this sweet boy! The video was much longer but would only let us upload a small clip. Tanner chose the part with Parker...haha...she was cracking us up! She is such a good big sister. She tells her brother every single morning..."Don't smile at those girls brudder". Ever since one of his teachers told us that he was giving all the ladies good smiles and I told him not to be smiling at any girls besides his momma and sister...well she never forgot me saying that and now he won't forget it either :)

Halloween 2012

We headed to Great Wolf Lodge for Halloween weekend. This was Parkers first time and we really wanted some good quality time with her so we left little man with Nana. But first we had to spend some good quality time with him :)

Love this little guy and the same pouty lip that his sister had has ;)

Lots of family time spent on the couch!

And we are off!!!

These silly pictures are my favorite, shows their real personalities!

A little pre-dinner coloring
And of course some fun jumps in the parking lot

And some crashes

But that doesn't stop them!

Balloon animal bracelets at Rain Forrest Cafe

I loved this time with Parker

And it made it even better that we got to spend time with family!

Off to trick or treat around the hotel. I got some pics of all the kids together but they are on my work computer, I'll get to those tomorrow!
Daddy with his Shirley Temple. She has no idea who she is...I let her watch some old "Good Ship Lollipop" videos and she loved them!

Swim Time!!
I have to say my little one is the most cautious kid I have ever met. She is nearly scared of everything until she gets warmed up and that's exactly how she was towards the water. She loved the kiddie pool area where she played in the one inch of water on her belly...we could have done that in the bathtub ;) We had so much fun with these sweet kids, they love spending time with eachother!
Laney & Kip LOVED the water!

Pumpkin painting party at the Lamb's!

Parker had trick or treating around her school, Midland College, and we literally walked the whole thing. She scored tons of candy but you had no idea what she was without her lollipop and tap shoes. She looked like a little sailor/nurse/regular kid :)

Some of Parkers best friends in her class!

ahhh my sweet little guy! He totally got the shaft. I bought him the cutest dragon costume but by the time we got anywhere it just seemed too much to put it on. So I now have a perfectly new costume that we won't ever be able to use least he looks cute in his frankenstein bib :)

Liam with his great Nana

Of course some cousin love was needed, I hope these boys are as close as the girls!

And I had to add this sweet little picture I snapped tonight of my sweet baby giving her baby a bottle and a teether while half naked and tattoos all over her arm!
